We are seeking a qualified and motivated Careers Adviser (Level 6) to deliver high-quality, impartial careers guidance to students in a school/college setting. You will support learners in making informed decisions about their future pathways, including university, apprenticeships, and employment, in line with the Gatsby Benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 careers guidance interviews to students (Level 6 standard)
- Support students with UCAS applications, personal statements, and career planning
- Deliver group sessions on employability, progression routes, and labour market information (LMI)
- Work with SLT and the Careers Leader to meet the Gatsby Benchmarks
- Build relationships with employers, universities, and apprenticeship providers
- Maintain accurate records of student guidance and destinations data
- Support careers events, workshops, and work experience programmes
About You
- Level 6 Careers Guidance qualification (CIAG) – essential
- Experience delivering careers advice in schools, colleges, or similar settings
- Strong knowledge of UK education pathways, UCAS, apprenticeships, and LMI
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage and motivate young people
Desirable
- Experience in FE college or sixth form setting
- Knowledge of Gatsby Benchmarks and Ofsted expectations
- Experience working with SEN or vulnerable learners
