We are seeking a motivated and supportive Student Achievement Coach to work with learners across a range of programmes, helping them overcome barriers to learning, improve their academic performance, and achieve their personal and educational goals. The successful candidate will provide one-to-one and small group support, focusing on attendance, engagement, literacy, numeracy, study skills, wellbeing, and personal development. You will play a key role in motivating learners, building confidence, and supporting positive outcomes both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one coaching and mentoring to support learner achievement and progression.
  • Support learners to develop literacy, numeracy, study, and organisational skills.
  • Monitor learner progress, attendance, punctuality, and engagement.
  • Identify barriers to learning and develop strategies to support success.
  • Work with learners to set targets and create action plans to achieve their goals.
  • Support students with confidence building, resilience, motivation, and personal development.
  • Liaise with curriculum staff, parents/carers, and external agencies where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and contribute to progress reviews.
  • Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, and learner wellbeing.
  • Support learners during enrichment activities, work placements, and transition opportunities.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with young people or adults in an educational, mentoring, coaching, or support role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • A positive, proactive, and learner-centred approach.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional learning needs.
  • Knowledge of further education, apprenticeships, or employability programmes.
  • Coaching, mentoring, youth work, education, or advice and guidance qualifications.
  • Experience delivering literacy, numeracy, or study skills interventions.
