We are currently recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive specialist education setting in Greater Manchester for a committed and enthusiastic Learning Facilitator to join their team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting learners with Additional Needs and helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally within a nurturing and inspiring environment.

The Role: As a Learning Facilitator, you will play a key role in supporting students with a range of additional needs both inside and outside of the classroom. Working closely with teaching staff and the wider support teams, you will help create a positive and engaging learning experience tailored to individual student needs. You may support learners with:

  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Communication and interaction difficulties
  • Moderate and complex learning difficulties
  • Behavioural and concentration difficulties

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students
  • Supporting students with learning activities and classroom engagement
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and personal development
  • Assisting with behaviour support using positive engagement strategies
  • Supporting students with emotional regulation and social interaction
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff
  • Adapting resources and approaches to meet individual learning needs

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working with children, young people, or adults with SEN (education, care, or support settings)
  • A calm, patient, resilient, and compassionate approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
  • Relevant qualifications or training within education or care (E.g. Level 2/3 safeguarding and prevent training, supporting teaching/ teaching assistance) are desirable but not essential
