Senior Finance Officer

Housing | Glasgow | Hybrid and Flexi-time (2 days on-site)

Day rate: £250 – £300 (DOE) Contract: Temporary – 3 months

About the role

A well-established housing association in Glasgow is seeking an interim Senior Finance Officer to provide hands-on leadership across management accounts, statutory compliance and day-to-day finance operations. You\’ll report to the Finance Director, manage a team of three, and support during a crucial period including a finance system change.

Key responsibilities

  • Own monthly management accounts and present insights to senior stakeholders.

  • Lead the finance function day to day, including cash flow and financial controls.

  • Submit VAT and statutory returns accurately and on time.

  • Manage and develop 3 team members with consistent leadership.

Wider remit includes annual accounts prep, budget reviews, treasury support, auditor liaison, and system/process improvements.

Must-haves

  • Professional qualification, or relevant industry experience
  • Strong management accounts background.

  • Open Accounts system experience.

  • Housing sector or not-for-profit funding and compliance experience.

Nice to have

  • Team leadership of finance staff.

  • Confidence liaising with boards, directors, or senior stakeholders.

  • Home Master exposure.

  • Treasury and audit liaison experience.
