A leading further education college in East London is seeking a Plumbing Lecturer to deliver high‑quality teaching and assessment across Levels 1‑3. You will shape curriculum content, support diverse learners to achieve industry‑ready skills, and contribute to a collaborative department committed to continuous improvement and strong learner outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons and workshops across Plumbing qualifications at Levels 1-3, ensuring alignment with curriculum standards.
- Teach core topics such as pipework fabrication, installation, sanitation, central heating principles, and environmental sustainability.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to support learner progress and achievement while maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Track and monitor learner attendance, progress, and achievement, implementing interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, quality assurance, and employer engagement to ensure relevance and innovation.
Qualifications
- Recognised teaching qualification or commitment to achieve one.
- Level 3 (or higher) Plumbing qualification or equivalent industry certification.
- Assessor qualification desirable.
- Internal Quality Assurance qualification advantageous.
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent as a minimum.
- Higher‑level technical qualifications in Plumbing/Heating, Gas, or Renewable Technologies considered an asset.
Experience Requirements
- Proven industry experience in domestic and/or commercial plumbing installation and maintenance.
- Experience teaching or training in FE, work‑based learning, or employer settings preferred.
- Confident delivery of practical workshop sessions and theory classes to mixed‑ability groups.
- Familiarity with vocational awarding body requirements and assessment practices.
