About the Role / Job Summary: Further Education College seeking a dedicated Maths Lecturer to contribute to the education of students in a dynamic further education environment. This role offers an opportunity to teach GCSE and Functional Skills Maths, focusing on engaging learners and enhancing their mathematical understanding. The position is temporary, with an estimated start date of September 14, 2026, and a minimum duration of four weeks, with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lessons in Maths for GCSE and Functional Skills.
- Provide additional support to students as necessary.
- Monitor student progress and performance, ensuring adherence to college standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience.
- Prepare lesson plans and assess student work.
Qualifications:
- A UK recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, DTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent).
- Experience delivering GCSE and Functional Skills Maths.
- Strong subject knowledge in Maths and related fields.
- Current DBS on the update service.
Education Requirements:
- Relevant degree in Mathematics or a closely related field.
- Teaching qualification is essential.
Experience Requirements:
- Previous experience in teaching Maths at the further education level.
- Experience with GCSE and Functional Skills curriculum is preferred.
- Ability to engage and motivate students.
