We're looking for a proactive and reliable Night Support Worker to join a young people's home in Redditch, providing overnight support and ensuring residents feel safe, supported and listened to throughout the night.

This role would suit someone who is comfortable working independently, but who is also ready to engage with young people when needed, offering support, reassurance and guidance when situations arise.

What You'll Do

  • Provide a safe, calm and supportive presence throughout the night
  • Complete appropriate welfare checks and respond to any concerns
  • Engage with young people when needed, offering reassurance and practical support
  • Build positive and professional relationships with residents
  • Encourage young people to develop independence and maintain positive routines
  • Respond appropriately to challenging situations, incidents or safeguarding concerns
  • Maintain accurate records, handovers and incident reports
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety and service procedures
  • Work alongside the wider team to ensure young people receive consistent support

About You

  • Previous experience working with young people
  • Experience in a support, care, housing, youth work or similar environment
  • A proactive approach and the confidence to engage with young people when required
  • A calm and patient approach, particularly when dealing with challenging situations
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • An understanding of safeguarding and working with vulnerable young people
  • The ability to work independently and responsibly during overnight shifts
  • Reliability and flexibility to work a night shift rota
