Salary: £25 - £30 Per Hour
Contract: Full-time, 35 hours per week

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Plumbing Technician to join our Construction Department. Working alongside our Plumbing Lecturer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality practical teaching and learning for students studying plumbing and related construction programmes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced plumbing professional who enjoys sharing their knowledge and contributing to the development of the next generation of skilled tradespeople.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare workshops, tools, equipment, and materials for practical lessons.
  • Support lecturers during practical training sessions, ensuring students work safely and effectively.
  • Maintain plumbing workshops to a high standard, ensuring equipment is clean, serviced, and ready for use.
  • Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and stock control of tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and college policies.
  • Assist with setting up practical assessments, demonstrations, and open events.
  • Monitor and order consumable materials and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Support learners by providing technical guidance under the direction of the lecturer.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, organised, and engaging learning environment.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Level 2 qualification in Plumbing or equivalent.
  • Relevant industry experience in domestic and/or commercial plumbing.
  • Sound knowledge of current plumbing practices, regulations, and health and safety requirements.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Competent in using a range of plumbing tools and equipmen
