An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and knowledgeable Lecturer in Plumbing & Heating to join a thriving Construction team at a leading college in Northamptonshire. The Role

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and practical teaching across a range of Plumbing & Heating programmes, supporting students to achieve their qualifications and reach their full potential. Key responsibilities include:

  • Teaching Plumbing & Heating programmes across Levels 1 to 3.
  • Acting as a course tutor for full-time and part-time student groups.
  • Managing course administration, student progress monitoring, and attendance records.
  • Delivering practical demonstrations and workshop-based learning activities.
  • Participating in curriculum development to meet evolving industry requirements and College objectives.
  • Supporting students through excellent pastoral care and academic guidance.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement and growth of the Construction curriculum.

Essential Requirements

  • Strong industry experience within the Plumbing sector.
  • A minimum Level 3 qualification in Plumbing or a related discipline.

  • Strong teaching, coaching, mentoring, or pastoral support abilities.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.

Desirable Requirements

  • A recognised teaching and/or assessing qualification.
  • Experience of teaching or training within Further Education, apprenticeships, or workplace learning environments.
  • Knowledge of current industry regulations, standards, and emerging technologies within Plumbing & Heating.

Teaching Qualification

Candidates who do not currently hold a teaching qualification should be willing to work towards an appropriate teaching and assessing qualification as part of their professional development.
