A well-regarded Further Education institution is seeking a dedicated Landbased Technician. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining and preparing the Countryside, Horticulture, and Landbased area, ensuring a supportive environment for students during practical activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare materials for practical classes and maintain equipment and machinery.
- Ensure the welfare of animals, including feeding, watering, and monitoring health status.
- Assist with the supervision of workshops and practical classes under the direction of teaching staff.
- Collect materials for practical classes as required.
- Participate in curriculum development and recruitment activities.
- Promote and adhere to safeguarding and health & safety policies.
- Contribute to the maintenance and sustainable development of resources.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in a related field (e.g., Agriculture, Horticulture).
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
- Experience in a relevant Landbased or agricultural environment.
- Strong practical skills in equipment handling and maintenance.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
Experience Requirements
- Previous experience working with animals and machinery.
- Experience supporting students or trainees is desirable.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
