The Opportunity

A leading Further Education College in Northamptonshire is seeking a highly organised and customer‑focused Exams Administrator to join its busy examinations team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong administrative skills who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment and takes pride in delivering a high‑quality service to students, staff and awarding organisations.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accurate administration of examination entries, registrations, results and certifications, while supporting compliance with awarding body regulations and internal procedures.

Working as part of a dedicated Exams team, they will help ensure that students receive an efficient and professional service throughout the examination cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process examination registrations, entries, claims and certification requests accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Maintain and update student records and examination data on the Management Information System (MIS).
  • Respond professionally to examination‑related enquiries from students and staff.
  • Support the administration of both online and paper‑based examinations.
  • Assist with examination planning, scheduling and invigilator coordination.
  • Process examination results and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure examination files and evidence are complete and compliant with awarding body requirements.
  • Support students receiving examination access arrangements and concessions.
  • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with data protection requirements.
  • Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the role.

About You

The successful candidate is likely to have

Essential

  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in an administrative role.
  • Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A proactive and solutions‑focused approach to work.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • An understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults.

Desirable

  • Experience working within a Further Education or Higher Education environment.
  • A qualification in Business Administration, Customer Service or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of examination administration processes and awarding body regulations.
  • Experience using student record systems or Management Information Systems (MIS).
  • Degree‑level education or equivalent.
