The predicted salary is between 35019 - 49767 £ per year.

Primarily you will be working with a range of students at Level 1 and Level 2 on full-time Construction Skills and Maintenance Operations study programmes, and potentially with Level 2 Apprentices that are working towards the Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship Standard. You will be expected to provide young students with an effective foundation to start their careers in a construction setting, with the intent to guide students into their specific chosen progression pathway.

The units of delivery may vary in accordance with the skill set of the tutor but will include (but not be limited to) topics such as:

  • Introduction to Health and Safety in Construction
  • Introduction to the Construction Industry
  • Introductory Carpentry and Joinery techniques
  • Introductory Painting and Decorating techniques
  • Introductory Plastering techniques
  • Introductory Tiling techniques
  • Introduction to Basic Plumbing techniques

This role will require you to deliver high quality, learner-focused education providing a quality learning experience for our students. You will be required to develop the curriculum and implement teaching and learning strategies that enable our students to succeed and thrive in their chosen subject area.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified construction trades person with significant industry experience. Experience of working across multiple trades would be extremely valuable, for example in property maintenance or renovation work. Ideally, you will have experience of working with young people in an educational setting, and hold a Level 5 teaching qualification (Certificate in Education), although NQT (Non-Qualified Teacher) status will be considered.
