The Role

  • As a Motor Vehicle & Engineering Lecturer, your responsibilities will include:
  • Delivering high-quality teaching across Motor Vehicle and Engineering programmes.
  • Planning and preparing engaging practical and theory-based lessons.
  • Assessing learner work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
  • Monitoring learner progress and implementing strategies to improve achievement.
  • Promoting safe working practices and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to develop and enhance the curriculum.
  • Maintaining accurate learner records and meeting awarding body requirements.
  • Preparing learners for employment, apprenticeships, and progression within the industry.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have

  • A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DET, DTLLS, QTS or QTLS (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Relevant industry qualifications and occupational experience within Motor Vehicle and/or Engineering disciplines.
  • Experience teaching, assessing, or training within Further Education, apprenticeships, or workplace learning environments.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A genuine passion for education and helping learners achieve their full potential.
  • Knowledge of current industry standards, technologies, regulations, and health & safety requirements.
