We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Team Leader to join our supported housing service in Surbiton. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in housing, homelessness, or support services who is passionate about empowering vulnerable individuals to achieve greater independence.
As Team Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the service, providing leadership to frontline staff while ensuring residents receive high-quality, person-centred support in a safe and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support a team of Housing and Customer Service staff through regular supervision, coaching, and performance management
- Coordinate daily shift operations and staff rotas to ensure consistent service delivery
- Act as the main point of contact for resident welfare, safeguarding concerns, and incident management
- Support residents to progress towards independent living through effective engagement and partnership working
- Manage resident referrals, inductions, and tenancy-related matters
- Minimise voids and maximise occupancy and rental income
- Respond effectively to challenging behaviour, anti-social behaviour, and crisis situations
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to maintain a high standard of accommodation and resident experience
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, safeguarding, and operational procedures
- Act as Fire Marshal and/or First Aider where required
We are looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience working within supported housing, homelessness, social care, or a similar environment
- Experience leading or supervising a frontline team
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and supporting vulnerable adults
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
