Morgan Hunt is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading Further Education college for an inspiring Pre-Supported Internship & Learning for Life Lecturer. This rewarding opportunity is ideal for an experienced SEND professional who is passionate about empowering young people with additional learning needs to develop the confidence, independence and employability skills they need for adult life.
Working with learners aged 18-25 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), you will deliver an engaging curriculum focused on life skills, employability and preparation for supported internships and the workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching to learners with SEND across pre-supported internship and life skills programmes.
- Plan engaging lessons that develop independence, communication, employability and preparation for adulthood.
- Differentiating learning to meet a wide range of needs including Autism, learning disabilities and complex needs.
- Support learners during work experience placements and help build positive relationships with employers.
- Monitor learner progress, complete assessments and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, families and external professionals to achieve positive learner outcomes.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching learners with SEND within Further Education, schools or specialist provisions.
- Excellent knowledge of Autism, learning disabilities and person-centred approaches.
- Experience planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting learners to achieve independence and meaningful employment.
Desirable
- Experience delivering Functional Skills English and/or Maths.
- Knowledge of supported internships, employability programmes or Preparation for Adulthood frameworks.
- Experience working with employers and external agencies.
