We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Governance Manager to lead and strengthen enterprise data governance capability within a complex, regulated environment. This role will act as a senior authority on governance policy, data quality, and Microsoft Purview, supporting both strategic direction and hands‐on delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation, maintenance, and evolution of data management and data governance policies, controls, processes, and standards.
- Own and drive data quality metrics, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring measurable improvements.
- Act as the Microsoft Purview subject matter expert, supporting the data governance team and associated data roles.
- Provide governance oversight across data domains, ensuring alignment with organisational and regulatory requirements.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to embed governance principles and improve data maturity.
- Support governance forums, decision‐making, and assurance activities.
Essential Skills & Experience (Lead Criteria)
- Strong background in designing and maintaining data management and data governance frameworks, including policies, controls, processes, and standards.
- Strong understanding of data quality metrics, controls, and reporting.
- Extensive hands‐on experience with Microsoft Purview, with the ability to act as the Purview expert and advisor.
- Proven experience operating at senior manager level within large or regulated organisations.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience in public sector or highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of data ownership, stewardship models, and enterprise data operating models.
