A Governing Body is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Architect (Salesforce) to provide technical leadership across multiple Salesforce workstreams within a large digital transformation programme. This role sits within a multidisciplinary digital and data function, supporting secure, scalable, and user-centred Salesforce services.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping technical direction, designing robust Salesforce solutions, and ensuring architectural standards are applied across a complex enterprise environment.
Purpose of the RoleThe Senior Technical Architect will lead the design, assurance, and governance of Salesforce solutions across several programmes. You will define technical architectures, influence delivery teams, and ensure that solutions are secure, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with strategic technology objectives.
Key focuses include- Designing end-to-end Salesforce architectures across multiple clouds
- Ensuring alignment with architectural, security, and data governance standards
- Supporting integration with enterprise systems and legacy platforms
- Providing technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and architects
- Contributing to the organisation's Salesforce architecture community and best-practice standards
- Lead the design and documentation of Salesforce technical solutions, ensuring they meet user and business needs.
- Provide expert technical assurance across Salesforce implementations and integrations.
- Define and govern technical standards, reusable patterns, and architecture principles.
- Design integration patterns for interoperability with enterprise systems and data platforms.
- Work closely with delivery teams to resolve technical challenges and inform architectural decisions.
- Mentor technical colleagues and support the development of internal capability.
- Contribute to Salesforce Centre of Excellence (CoE) activities and community standards.
- Proven experience designing and leading Salesforce solutions across multiple clouds (Service, Experience, PSS, Core Platform, etc.).
- Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, configuration, and technical best practices.
- Experience designing integration patterns, APIs, and middleware for connecting Salesforce to enterprise systems.
- Ability to produce and maintain architectural artefacts using tools and frameworks (Archi, ArchiMate, UML, etc.).
- Experience applying secure design principles, data governance, and architectural assurance.
- Active SC Clearance (mandatory).
- Relevant certifications (or ability to obtain within 6 months), such as: Salesforce Technical Architect certifications, TOGAF, BCS EA, Zachman, or equivalent architectural qualification.
- Experience working within public-sector digital standards or assurance frameworks.
