The Curriculum Manager for Vocational Sciences is responsible for the development, organisation, and management of the Vocational Science curriculum.

This role includes overseeing vocational adult programs, such as Access courses, and encompasses BTEC Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 Science, and Science GCSE.

The position emphasise collaboration with employers and stakeholders to ensure that teaching and learning align with real-world applications, ultimately enhancing student outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Director in achieving strategic and operational targets aligned with KPIs.
  • Utilise labour market information to inform current and future curriculum offerings.
  • Collaborate with employers to design and develop curriculum that meets market needs.
  • Ensure appropriate allocation of resources for curriculum delivery and promote high learner outcomes.
  • Manage compliance with health and safety legislation and liaise with relevant curriculum managers.
  • Set and monitor targets for recruitment, retention, achievement, and progress.
  • Oversee the management of courses and programs, including admissions, assessment, and induction.

Qualifications

  • Teaching qualification (e. g., PGCE, Cert Ed) is desirable.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, or a related field.
  • Continuous professional development in educational leadership is preferred.
  • Experience in curriculum management within an educational setting.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing educational programs.
  • Familiarity with working with diverse student populations and industry partners.
  • Excellent communication skills
