I am currently looking for an experienced Independent Mental Capacity Advocate (IMCA) to support vulnerable clients across East London. In this rewarding role, you will provide independent advocacy for individuals who lack capacity to make certain decisions and have no appropriate family or friends to represent them. You will work closely with health and social care professionals to ensure clients' rights, wishes, feelings, and best interests are fully considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent and support individuals subject to Mental Capacity Act decisions
  • Attend meetings, reviews, and best interest assessments
  • Prepare clear reports and maintain accurate case records
  • Promote person centred advocacy and safeguarding principles
  • Work independently across hospital and community setting

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 3 Advocacy Qualification
  • Strong understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload independently
  • Enhanced DBS check required
