Pay: £16.43 per hour + £1.98 holiday pay = £18.41 per hour

Contract: Temporary Contract (1-2 Months)

Hours: 37.5 Hours Per Week | Monday - Friday

Shift Pattern: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable people and helping individuals move away from rough sleeping? We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Outreach Worker to join a dedicated outreach team in Redbridge on a temporary basis. This role involves travelling across the borough to identify, engage, and support rough sleepers, helping them access accommodation and essential support services. Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be willing and able to travel during early mornings and late evenings when public transport may be limited.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct street-based assessments with new rough sleepers and provide ongoing casework support.
  • Plan and coordinate outreach shifts using referral information and local intelligence.
  • Verify rough sleeping and support individuals through appropriate referral pathways.
  • Assist clients to access accommodation, healthcare, housing advice, day centres, benefits, and other support services.
  • Lead on crisis intervention and complex case management alongside the Team Manager.
  • Organise and participate in annual street counts and local hotspot mapping exercises.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with local authorities, statutory agencies, and voluntary sector organisations.
  • Support outreach initiatives including cold weather provision and rough sleeper engagement projects.
  • Contribute to service development in line with local and national rough sleeping strategies, including No Second Night Out.
  • Monitor expenditure and oversee volunteer timesheets and expenses in partnership with management.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working directly with rough sleepers or homeless individuals.
  • Knowledge of immigration and benefit entitlement issues affecting both EEA and non-EEA nationals.
  • Strong understanding of barriers faced by rough sleepers and available support pathways.
  • Experience delivering person-centred support and empowering vulnerable clients.
  • Knowledge of London rough sleeping services, initiatives, and the Single Service Offer approach.
  • Ability to assess and manage risk dynamically in challenging situations.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload and competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
  • Competent IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records.
  • Experience working within a multi-agency framework and coordinating support from partner organisations.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings and late evenings as required.
