As a Housing Support Worker, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals affected by trauma and who have experienced homelessness, helping them to develop their skills and independence to move on into long term, stable accommodation.
The role - Housing Support Worker
Key Responsibilities
- Support individuals within the supported housing service in developing their skills and independence.
- Conduct regular key - working sessions to address individual needs.
- Maintain comprehensive records of interactions and support plans.
- Ensure the safety and security of the supported housing service.
- Collaborate with team members and external services to provide holistic support to individuals who have experienced trauma.
- Promote a trauma - informed approach in all interactions.
- The candidate
- Previous experience in social care, housing support, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to support individuals with complex needs, including those affected by trauma, addiction, and/or homelessness.
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with community resources and services available to vulnerable people.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
- Resilient and able to handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Confident and capable of working independently and making decisions when required.
