We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our supportive and inclusive team. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work closely with learners, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will provide in-class and one-to-one support to students with a range of additional learning needs, ensuring they can fully engage with their studies and college life.
Key Responsibilities- Provide learning support to students in classroom, workshop, and practical learning environments.
- Assist learners with additional learning needs, including SEND, SEMH, and EHCP requirements.
- Support students in developing confidence, independence, and study skills.
- Work closely with teaching staff to implement individual learning plans and support strategies.
- Monitor and record learner progress and provide feedback to relevant staff.
- Promote an inclusive and positive learning environment.
- Assist with personal care and mobility support where required.
- Encourage student participation, attendance, and engagement in learning activities.
- A good standard of education, including GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Experience working with young people or adults in an educational, support, care, or mentoring environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting learners.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Education, Health & Social Care, or a related field.
- Experience supporting learners with SEND, Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, or SEMH needs.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and inclusive learning practices.
- First Aid qualification.
- Experience within a Further Education, School, or Training Provider setting.
