As we lead into the 26/27 Academic year, we are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Automotive/Motor Vehicle Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching and inspire learners to achieve their full potential. You will play a key role in planning and delivering engaging lessons, supporting student progress, and contributing to a positive learning environment. Whether you are an experienced lecturer or an industry professional looking to move into education, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across Motor Vehicle and Automotive programmes.
- Teach practical and theoretical aspects of vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and emerging automotive technologies.
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, and learning resources.
- Assess learner progress and provide timely feedback.
- Support students in achieving their qualifications and career aspirations.
- Maintain workshop equipment and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in student recruitment, open days, and employer engagement activities.
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 qualification (or above) in Motor Vehicle, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Relevant industry experience within the automotive sector.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle servicing, diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A passion for supporting and developing learners.
Desirable Requirements
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
- Assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, or equivalent).
- Previous teaching, training, or mentoring experience.
- Experience working with hybrid and electric vehicle technologies.
- Knowledge of vocational qualifications and apprenticeship standards.
