Morgan Hunt is working with a consultancy in Glasgow looking to add a Structural Engineer to their team. This is a dynamic role supporting projects across commercial, residential, infrastructure, energy, and industrial sectors from concept to construction, delivering safe, efficient and sustainable structural solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and analysis of structural elements in steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
- Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports in line with project requirements.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including architects and civil engineers, to deliver coordinated designs.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant UK standards, Eurocodes and best practice guidance.
- Support the review of designs, including checking drawings and calculations for accuracy and quality.
- Contribute to project delivery, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
- Engage with clients, contractors and stakeholders as required.
- Apply sustainable design principles and contribute to innovative engineering solutions.
Requirements
- Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or a related discipline).
- Progressing toward Chartered Engineer status.
- Experience in structural design within a consultancy or similar environment.
- Familiarity with structural design software (Tekla Structural Designer, Robot, ETABS or similar).
- Understanding of Eurocodes and UK design standards.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Ability to manage workload effectively and meet project deadlines.
