This organisation creates mechanical and electrical design engineering solutions for sectors across the built environment including Education, Commercial, Hotel & Leisure and more. In recent years, sustainability has been at the core of all their projects, building up a strong track record for environmentally friendly and cost-effective engineering solutions. This business is known for its supportive, trusting, social working environment. They are well resourced/managed and candidate feedback has been great. They are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Glasgow office. They would consider an experienced engineer or an individual close to progressing to Associate. You will be working for a supportive organisation that will provide you with the tools/support to get there.
Role
- Ensuring an understanding of project briefs.
- Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems.
- Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems - power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc.
- Carry out (and manage others) in the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Dialux, Amtech, in-house developed tools, etc.
- Representing the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
- Site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works.
- Report and technical note writing.
- Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards.
- Adherence to all quality, environmental and governance processes.
Qualifications / Experience
- Degree qualified or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering.
- 5-10 years experience working in a design consultancy or a similar environment.
- Knowledge of electrical design within the built environment.
- Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients.
- Detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards, able to take charge of project deliverables, make decisions, act on own initiative.
- Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools such as Trimble, Dialux, Excel etc.
