Reporting to: Marketing and Communications Manager

Salary: £29,000 - £32,000

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Hours: 35 hours per week, with flexibility for evenings and weekends

Annual Leave: 40 days (inclusive of Public Holidays)

Pension: 7% employer and 3% employee contribution

About Beatson Cancer Charity: At Beatson Cancer Charity, they support and enhance the treatment, care, and wellbeing of current, former, and future cancer patients and their families. They work in partnership with the NHS, The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, and all related facilities. They believe that no one should face cancer on their own. This has always been their aim, and they will work hard to continue supporting even more people and families in the years to come.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement media plans to maximise opportunities.
  • Handle media enquiries, draft statements, and manage press office activities.
  • Build relationships with journalists and secure coverage for campaigns and initiatives.
  • Create engaging content for publications, reports, and digital channels.
  • Support the production and promotion of the charity's podcast series.
  • Monitor and evaluate media coverage and PR activity.

Person Specification:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in PR, communications, or journalism.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a media environment (press office, PR agency, or journalism).
  • Strong writing, project management, and media relations skills.
  • Experience with social media and multimedia storytelling.
  • Passion for making a difference and working in a charity environment.
