Projects can vary from small works to £100m+ across Education, Heritage, High-End Residential, Cultural, Laboratories and more. They have a very modern, open-plan office space, positive social culture and you will get exposure to designing a wide range of electrical systems across multiple jobs and there is an excellent support system in place for staff training and development. They are currently seeking an Electrical or Senior Design Engineer at join their Glasgow office.
Role
- Ensuring an understanding of project briefs.
- Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems.
- Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems - power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc.
- Carry out (and managing of others), in the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, dialux, Amtech, in-house developed tools, etc.
- Representing the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
- Site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works.
- Report and technical note writing.
- Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards.
- Adherence to all quality, environmental and governance processes.
Qualifications / Experience
- Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in electrical design within a building services consultancy or contractor environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and standards, including BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations).
- Experience producing detailed electrical design calculations and drawings (lighting, power, small power, containment, earthing, fire alarm, data, etc.).
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Right to work in the UK.
