If you are a qualified or nearly qualified accountant who enjoys business partnering, budgeting and influencing non-finance managers, this opportunity offers real impact.

The Opportunity

As Finance Performance Manager, you will sit at the centre of operational decision-making across the organisation. You will work closely with budget holders who do not come from a finance background, helping them understand performance, manage cost pressures and improve outcomes. With continued scrutiny across public and charitable funding, financial insight and robust forecasting are more important than ever. This role blends financial control, business partnering and project oversight in equal measure.

What You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts
  • Leading and developing the annual budgeting process
  • Driving forecasting and cashflow updates
  • Supporting investment appraisals and capital projects
  • Providing meaningful financial insight to senior stakeholders
  • Line managing a Business Performance Assistant

This is a hands-on role with real influence across the organisation blending financial control, project oversight and business partnering.

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or nearing completion
  • Strong management accounting experience
  • Confident working with non-finance stakeholders
  • Ability to translate financial data into practical action
  • Comfortable working with finance systems and technology

Desirable:

  • Budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Exposure to project finance or capital planning
  • Line management experience
  • Experience within public or charitable organisations

Personality, credibility and the ability to build relationships will be just as important as technical capability.

Working Arrangements & Pattern:

  • 35.75 hours per week
  • Hybrid working model
  • One day per week at their HQ office based in Edinburgh
  • Additional on-site presence during budget or year-end periods
  • Occasional travel to other venues
  • Flexible working hours with core hours in place

This role offers stability, flexibility and long-term opportunities and progression within a well-established team.

If successful, you will be invited to complete a one stage interview including:
