Finance Officer will be working for a charity that supports people experiencing homelessness in London by providing street outreach, housing support, and help with employment, training, and rebuilding their lives.

The role involves supporting the finance team and requires an experienced Finance Officer with charity sector experience. You will be an experienced, hands-on finance professional who can quickly integrate into the team and provide flexible, all-round support. You will use strong interpersonal skills to assist across a range of finance tasks, acting as a reliable multitasker who helps the team meet its day-to-day and month-end needs.

What you will be doing:

  • Provide temporary cover and support to the finance team during the implementation of a new finance system
  • Assist the Finance Officers with payroll processes, including timesheets and expense claims
  • Support the Management Accountant with month-end tasks and reporting activities
  • Work closely with budget holders to respond to finance-related queries and provide guidance
  • Assist the Head of Finance with preparatory work for monthly management accounts
  • Support Finance Officers with accounts payable processing and related duties

Required skills and qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience in a finance function handling high-volume transactions accurately and in compliance
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong team collaboration
