An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Installation professional to join a growing Further Education College in South Essex as a Solar PV Installation Lecturer. This is a fantastic chance to move into (or continue within) education and help train the next generation of electricians and renewable energy specialists in one of the fastest-growing sectors in the industry.

You will be delivering high-quality training across Electrical Installation and Solar PV programmes, supporting learners with both practical and theoretical elements of the curriculum while bringing current industry knowledge into the classroom and workshop environment.

The Role
  • Deliver engaging teaching and practical training in Electrical Installation and Solar PV Systems
  • Teach and assess learners on industry-relevant qualifications and standards
  • Support students to achieve successful outcomes and develop employability skills
  • Deliver training on inspection, testing, verification, and renewable technologies
  • Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge in line with current regulations and practices
  • Contribute to curriculum development and learner progression
Essential Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Installation (City & Guilds 2357/5357 or equivalent)
  • Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification (BS7671)
  • Level 3 qualification in Initial Verification / Inspection & Testing
  • Level 3 Award in the Installation & Maintenance of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems
  • Fully qualified and practicing electrician background
  • Current ECS Gold Card
  • Recognised teaching qualification
Desirable
  • Previous teaching, assessing, or mentoring experience
  • Experience delivering accredited renewable energy qualifications
  • Passion for supporting learners entering the electrical and renewables sector
