Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective English lessons across the relevant curriculum.
- Plan and deliver lessons, learning activities and assessments in line with curriculum requirements.
- Deliver GCSE English, Functional Skills English and other relevant English programmes.
- Support students with their academic development and progression.
- Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement and progress.
- Create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Use engaging teaching methods to develop students' English, literacy and communication skills.
- Work collaboratively with the wider teaching team.
- Support students in developing the skills required for further study and employment.
About You
- Experience teaching English within an FE or Sixth Form setting.
- Strong subject knowledge across English and related areas.
- A recognised teaching qualification.
- A degree in English, English Education or a relevant subject.
- Experience delivering GCSE and/or Functional Skills English.
- Excellent communication, classroom management and organisational skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate learners.
- A genuine passion for supporting students to achieve strong academic and career outcomes.
