Morgan Hunt are working with a consultancy in Edinburgh who are looking to add a Structural Engineer to their team. You'll have the chance to join a dynamic consultancy in Scotland, working across a broad range of sectors including commercial, residential, infrastructure, energy, and industrial developments. You will contribute to the delivery of safe, efficient, and sustainable structural solutions, supporting projects from concept through to construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and analysis of structural elements in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry
- Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports in line with project requirements
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including architects and civil engineers, to deliver coordinated designs
- Ensure designs comply with relevant UK standards, Eurocodes, and best practice guidance
- Support the review of designs, including checking drawings and calculations for accuracy and quality
- Contribute to project delivery, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget
- Engage with clients, contractors, and stakeholders as required
- Apply sustainable design principles and contribute to innovative engineering solutions
Requirements
- Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or a related discipline)
- Progressing toward Chartered Engineer status
- Experience in structural design within a consultancy or similar environment
- Familiarity with structural design software (Tekla Structural Designer, Robot, ETABS, or similar)
- Understanding of Eurocodes and UK design standards
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage workload effectively and meet project deadlines
