We are seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join a leading engineering consultancy. This is a senior position for someone ready to take a leading role in project delivery, client engagement, and team development. You will be responsible for overseeing electrical design on a range of projects across sectors such as education, healthcare, leisure, and defence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design and coordination of building services systems from concept through to completion
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to high technical standards
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Prepare and review detailed design calculations, specifications, drawings, and reports
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and sustainability targets
- Support business development activities, including bid preparation and client presentations
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it)
- Significant experience in electrical design within building services consultancy
- Strong knowledge of UK regulations, standards, and best practices (e.g., BS 7671, CIBSE guidance)
- Proven ability to lead projects and manage client relationships
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, Dialux or similar)
