We are currently recruiting for a Housing Support Worker to join a growing service supporting vulnerable adults across Ealing and Brent. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced support worker who is passionate about helping individuals maintain their accommodation and achieve greater independence. The successful candidate will work across three properties, supporting approximately 15 residents, including individuals in supported living and Universal Credit accommodation. We are particularly keen to speak with candidates who have experience supporting clients within supported living environments.
The Role
As a Housing Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable adults who may be at risk of homelessness. You will combine housing management responsibilities with person-centred support, helping residents sustain their tenancies, develop independent living skills, and access the services they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of residents across multiple properties
- Conduct comprehensive needs assessments, risk assessments, and support planning
- Deliver high-quality Tenancy Related Support to help residents maintain their accommodation
- Support clients to access benefits, healthcare services, mental health support, substance misuse services, and social care provision
- Carry out regular key-working sessions, reviews, and welfare checks
- Promote independent living skills including budgeting, cooking, maintaining a tenancy, and engaging with the local community
- Monitor resident wellbeing and respond appropriately to safeguarding and risk concerns
- Maintain accurate case notes, support records, and outcome-focused documentation
- Ensure properties are maintained to a high standard and comply with health and safety requirements
- Liaise with local authorities, housing providers, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes for residents
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting vulnerable adults within supported housing, supported living, homelessness, or housing support services
- Experience conducting risk assessments, support plans, and tenancy sustainment work
- Good understanding of homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, and complex needs
- Strong organisational and case management skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites
