IDVA Caseworker - Domestic Abuse - Language Speaking
Location: London / Hybrid working (2 days in the office)
Contract: 2-month temporary contract, with potential for extension
Start date: 7th September

Are you passionate about supporting women affected by domestic abuse?
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Domestic Abuse Caseworker / IDVA Caseworker to join a specialist service on an initial 2-month temporary contract.
This role is ideal for someone with previous experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse. You do not need to be a qualified IDVA; however, candidates with an IDVA qualification and significant relevant experience may be considered at a higher pay rate.
The role
You will provide practical and emotional support to women affected by domestic abuse and other forms of VAWG. Responsibilities may include:

Managing a caseload of service users affected by domestic abuse

Providing one-to-one, trauma-informed support

Carrying out risk assessments and developing safety plans

Supporting clients with housing, benefits, immigration, legal matters and other complex needs

Making referrals to relevant specialist and statutory services

Working closely with external agencies including police, social services, housing and health professionals

Supporting safeguarding and risk management processes

Maintaining accurate case notes and records

Promoting safety, independence, recovery and empowerment
The role will involve supporting women with a range of complex needs and requires a strong understanding of the impact and dynamics of domestic abuse.
Requirements

Previous experience working with survivors of domestic abuse or within a relevant VAWG service

Experience in casework, advocacy, refuge, outreach or similar support services

Strong understanding of safeguarding and risk management

Ability to manage a caseload and work independently

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to speak at least one of the following languages:

Bengali
-
Farsi
-
Arabic
-
Urdu
-
Hindi
-
Gujarati
-
-
Enhanced DBS and full compliance documents ready to go
