Overview
Morgan Hunt are currently working with a leading not-for-profit organisation in their search for an interim Data Protection Team Manager to provide short-term cover and leadership across a busy Data Protection / Information Governance function. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced data protection professional to step into a hands-on management role, supporting business-as-usual activity while ensuring high-quality advice and compliance across the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of a data protection / information governance team.
- Manage team workload, ensuring priorities are clear and outputs are high quality and delivered to deadlines.
- Act as the escalation point for complex or sensitive data protection issues.
- Provide pragmatic advice to stakeholders across the organisation on UK GDPR, privacy and compliance matters.
- Support operational delivery, including hands-on involvement in day-to-day DP work where required.
- Ensure effective handling of subject access requests, disclosures, compliance queries and incident/breach matters.
- Maintain strong working relationships across the organisation and contribute to a confident, high-performing team culture.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience managing a data protection / information governance team.
- Strong people management experience, including oversight of workload, performance and delivery.
- Extensive working knowledge of UK GDPR and data protection compliance in practice.
- Comfortable being hands-on and operational - able to support and progress day-to-day work quickly.
- Able to build trust and credibility with stakeholders at all levels.
- Pragmatic, organised and confident prioritising in a fast-paced environment.
- Background within public sector or not-for-profit settings (highly desirable).
