Morgan Hunt is delighted to be partnering with a leading Housing Association to recruit an experienced Cyber Security Engineer on an initial 12-month Fixed-Term Contract.
The Role
Working closely with the Cyber Security Manager and Senior Cyber Security Engineer, you will help design, implement and maintain the organisation's cyber security capabilities.
You will have a broad remit across Microsoft security technologies, identity and access management, vulnerability management, incident response, SIEM/SOAR, threat hunting and cloud security, while also providing security advice to technology projects and supporting security-by-design principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain cyber security solutions and capabilities.
- Administer and monitor Microsoft 365 security technologies, including Intune, Entra ID, Defender, Purview, Exchange Online, Share Point and Teams.
- Support identity and access management, vulnerability management and security monitoring.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, including SIEM/SOAR investigations and advanced threat hunting.
- Support security reviews, audits and annual penetration testing.
- Identify vulnerabilities, risks and opportunities to improve the organisation's security posture.
- Provide security advice to IT projects, ensuring security is embedded into solution design and technology decisions.
- Support and maintain alignment with Cyber Essentials Plus.
- Contribute to information security policies, procedures and standards.
- Work with internal teams and external partners to deliver security improvements.
- Keep up to date with emerging cyber security threats, vulnerabilities and industry best practice.
About You
We're looking for a Cyber Security Engineer with practical experience working within an information or cyber security environment.
You should have
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Security technologies.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and Defender.
- Knowledge of SIEM/SOAR, vulnerability management and incident response.
- Understanding of cloud security and network security principles.
- Experience supporting security assessments, audits and penetration testing.
- Knowledge of security frameworks including NIST and Cyber Essentials.
- Understanding of ITIL processes, particularly Incident, Change and Problem Management.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and solve complex security problems.

- Comp TIA Security+ or equivalent security experience.
Desirable
- Microsoft SC-200, SC-300 or SC-400
- CEH
- CISSP
- CCNA
