As we lead into the 26/27 Academic year, we are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Automotive/Motor Vehicle Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching and inspire learners to achieve their full potential. You will play a key role in planning and delivering engaging lessons, supporting student progress, and contributing to a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across Motor Vehicle and Automotive programmes.
  • Teach practical and theoretical aspects of vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and emerging automotive technologies.
  • Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, and learning resources.
  • Assess learner progress and provide timely feedback.
  • Support students in achieving their qualifications and career aspirations.
  • Maintain workshop equipment and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in student recruitment, open days, and employer engagement activities.

Essential Requirements

  • Level 3 qualification (or above) in Motor Vehicle, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant industry experience within the automotive sector.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle servicing, diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A passion for supporting and developing learners.

Desirable Requirements

  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
  • Assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, or equivalent).
  • Previous teaching, training, or mentoring experience.
  • Experience working with hybrid and electric vehicle technologies.
  • Knowledge of vocational qualifications and apprenticeship standards.
