The Role

You will play a pivotal role in delivering AQA A-Level Chemistry, encompassing both theoretical components and NEA practical elements. You will create engaging learning experiences, guide students through academic challenges, and help shape their future career paths in science.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in A-Level Chemistry, including NEA practicals.
  • Develop and maintain course materials, schemes of work, and Google Classrooms.
  • Monitor and assess student progress using ProMarkbook and ProMonitor.
  • Set SMART targets and implement interventions where necessary.
  • Record and track NEA skills and grades on central systems.
  • Liaise with laboratory technicians to ensure safe and timely setup of practical work.
  • Maintain health and safety standards in all teaching and practical environments.
  • Contribute to the wider curriculum, including attending parent evenings and training events.
  • Embed English and maths development into all learning activities.
  • Collaborate with staff to design and review programme delivery.
  • Support enrichment through guest speakers and work-related learning opportunities.

Essential Criteria

  • Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry.

  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one (for unqualified applicants).
