Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching and assessment across Catering and Culinary Arts programmes, covering food preparation, cookery techniques, food safety, kitchen operations, and professional practice.
  • Plan and develop lesson plans, schemes of work, learning resources, and assessments in line with awarding body requirements and industry standards.
  • Monitor student progress, attendance, and achievement while providing constructive feedback, personal tutoring, pastoral support, and guidance to promote progression and employability.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance, internal verification, industry engagement, competitions, events, and catering activities, while maintaining high standards of hygiene, health and safety, and safeguarding.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification or professional experience in Catering, Culinary Arts, Professional Cookery, Hospitality, or a related discipline.
  • Experience delivering Catering/Culinary Arts within a UK Further Education (FE) college, preferably across Levels 1-3.
  • A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent, or willingness to work towards one.
  • Strong practical catering skills and knowledge of food safety, kitchen operations, assessment, safeguarding, and industry standards, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
