The Role
As a Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer / Trainer Assessor, you will deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment across a range of programmes, including:
- Level 1‑3 Carpentry & Joinery qualifications
- Adult learning programmes
- Apprenticeships
You’ll combine practical workshop delivery with classroom‑based teaching, helping learners develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective teaching, learning and assessment.
- Support learners to achieve their full potential through target setting, mentoring and progress monitoring.
- Develop creative learning resources and practical activities that enhance learner engagement.
- Assess learner performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve departmental and organisational objectives.
- Maintain high standards of learner achievement, attendance and behaviour.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- A Level 3 qualification in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent).
- Recent industry experience within the construction sector.
- A teaching qualification and/or Assessor Award, or a willingness to work towards these with full support provided.
- English and Maths at Level 2 (or willingness to achieve them).
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A passion for developing others and sharing industry knowledge.
