Morgan Hunt are looking for a skilled floor layer in the Canterbury area to join a Responsive Repairs team, carrying out high-quality flooring repairs and installations in occupied properties (social housing) and communal areas. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll work across a range of flooring types, ensuring residents receive a first-class service and a high standard of work every time.
What you’ll be doing:
- Installing, repairing and replacing a variety of flooring including vinyl, laminate, carpet tiles and safety flooring.
- Preparing and levelling subfloors to ensure a quality finish.
- Carrying out floor preparation works, including latex screeds and smoothing compounds.
- Completing repairs safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Responding to urgent and emergency repair requests when required.
- Maintaining accurate job records using mobile working technology.
- Delivering excellent customer service and keeping residents informed throughout the works.
- Working closely with other trades to provide effective repair solutions.
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience as a Floor Layer within a maintenance, construction or repairs environment.
- Strong knowledge of vinyl, laminate, carpet tiles and safety flooring installation.
- Experience in floor preparation and subfloor repairs.
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality work and excellent customer service.
- Good communication skills and a professional approach.
- Full UK driving licence.
