A UK government organisation is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a major transformation programme. This role will play a pivotal part in analysing, mapping, and redesigning business processes to enable more efficient and effective service delivery across the department.
The successful candidate will have a proven background in business analysis within government environments, with a strong grasp of GDS (Government Digital Service) standards and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed business analysis to understand existing processes, user journeys, and system dependencies.
- Develop comprehensive as-is and to-be process maps, using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across business and technical teams to gather requirements and identify areas for transformation.
- Lead workshops and interviews to capture business needs and user requirements.
- Support the development of business cases and contribute to the delivery of digital services in line with GDS service standards.
- Translate complex processes and requirements into clear documentation for use by delivery teams.
- Ensure alignment of business process redesign with organisational strategy and policy requirements.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in UK government departments or public sector organisations.
- Strong background in process mapping, business process modelling (e.g. BPMN), and business transformation.
- Hands-on experience with GDS standards, service assessments, and agile delivery environments.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience supporting end-to-end delivery of digital services and process change.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and drive outcomes in a complex environment.
Desirable:
- Experience using tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, or equivalent for process mapping.
- Knowledge of digital transformation programmes in central government.
- Agile certifications (e.g. Scrum, SAFe) or business analysis qualifications (e.g. BCS, IIBA).
