About the Role / Job Summary
We are dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and mental health challenges.
As a Hostel Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, person-centred support to clients within our supported housing projects.
You will be part of a committed team that promotes recovery, independence, and wellbeing for vulnerable individuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate support for allocated clients.
- Manage the operation of the hostel during shifts, addressing emerging issues and incidents.
- Provide practical and personal support to clients in an engaging and flexible manner.
- Assist clients in identifying their personal goals and support them in achieving these aims.
- Liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure appropriate support is provided.
- Contribute to the day-to-day management of the hostel, ensuring a safe and positive living environment.
- Complete procedural and administrative tasks in line with policies and legal requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Experience in a customer-facing hospitality role.
- Experience supporting individuals with mental health issues.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and remain calm under pressure.
Education Requirements
- Relevant qualifications in Social Care or a related field are preferred but not essential
Experience Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role within social care or supported housing services.
- Experience managing challenging behaviours and responding to incidents effectively.
