About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Head of Subject - Business to lead and develop our Business provision within Higher Education. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving academic excellence, enhancing the student experience, and shaping the strategic direction of the subject area. You will lead a team of academic staff, oversee curriculum delivery, and ensure programmes are aligned with industry needs and institutional goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the Business subject area
- Manage and support academic staff, fostering a high-performance culture
- Oversee curriculum design, development, and quality assurance
- Ensure an outstanding student experience and strong academic outcomes
- Lead on recruitment, retention, and progression strategies
- Manage budgets and resources effectively within the subject area
- Build and maintain relationships with industry partners and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with Higher Education standards and regulatory frameworks
Essential Requirements
- A Master’s degree in Business or a closely related discipline
- Significant experience within Higher Education teaching and leadership
- Demonstrable experience in curriculum management and quality assurance
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Proven ability to drive performance and enhance student outcomes
Highly Desirable
- Experience in a Head of Department/Subject or similar leadership role
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCertHE or equivalent)
- Industry experience within a Business‑related field
- Experience working with external stakeholders and partnerships
