Morgan Hunt is collaborating with a well-established sixth form college in Birmingham to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled Early Years Lecturer to join their committed and cohesive teaching team.

The Role

The successful applicant will design, deliver and assess high-quality teaching and learning across early years programmes, supporting students to achieve outstanding outcomes. You will play a key role in developing the curriculum, conducting assessments and facilitating learner progression, whilst ensuring that courses comply with regulatory requirements and reflect exemplary practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons in Early Years theory and practice.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on learners' progress; provide timely feedback.
  • Develop curriculum content that is up-to-date with statutory frameworks (EYFS, etc.) and best pedagogical practice.
  • Support learners in developing both practical skills (working with children, enabling environments, health & safety, etc.) and theoretical understanding.
  • Liaise with external partners (nurseries, schools, daycare providers) for placements, observations, and collaborative learning.
  • Participate in staff development, quality assurance, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with FE college policies and safeguarding procedures.
  • Up to date knowledge of the Ofsted and QAA for Higher Education Inspectorate process.

Education, Skills and Requirements

  • An appropriate level of qualification in Early Years.
  • Qualified Teaching Qualification, i.e. DTLLS, Cert. Ed/PGCE, or equivalent (or a commitment to work towards in line with contractual requirements).
  • GCSE A* – C in English and Maths (Grades 9-4) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching within further education or similar educational settings.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and current industry practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and classroom management skills.
