Are you an Assessment and Move on Worker looking for a new role? LB Haringey are currently looking for an Assessment and Move on Worker to join their team on a contract basis. Please see below.

To hold responsibility for applying expertise of relevant legislation and to use your initiative to achieve good outcomes for people who use the service. Providing comprehensive assessments around support needs and identifying opportunities for appropriate move‑on options and successfully achieving those move‑ons to a targeted timescale.

Main Responsibilities
  • To be responsible to the management team for the day‑to‑day delivery of the service and to work with clients around their immediate support needs.
  • To carry out comprehensive client assessments and draw up effective action and safety plans with clients; offer support and advice around reconnection or accommodation offers and keep accurate records of case work on Inform.
  • To provide advice to clients on their reconnection and accommodation options, as well as appropriate on health, welfare benefit claims, immigration status and other issues as necessary.
  • To keep abreast of current housing legislation, welfare benefit rules and any other applicable matters that are relevant to the successful support and move‑on of clients.
  • To work assertively, persuasively and creatively with clients as well as Outreach, Pathway and Housing Needs teams to identify and support successful move‑on options for clients.
  • To assist people in making successful claims for housing benefit, welfare benefits, EU Settled Status and/or in work benefits as appropriate.
  • To build and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues, both internally and externally.
Additional Responsibilities
  • To participate on team meetings, team review days and other meetings as agreed with the management team.
  • To support and encourage clients to undertake housekeeping and cleaning duties as necessary and challenge behaviours that negatively impact on others in order to maintain a clean and safe physical environment.
  • Additionally, to take part in turning around void rooms to maximise availability of bedspaces.
  • Being proactive in reviewing and evaluating own performance and identifying and acting upon areas for improvement and development.
