We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Apprentice Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive Further Education college environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about education and learner development to begin or build a career in learning support, working closely with students to help them achieve their full potential.
The Role
As an Apprentice LSA, you will provide in-class and one-to-one support to learners, including those with additional learning needs. You will work alongside teaching staff to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment. You will also be supported to develop your own skills and knowledge through on-the-job training and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support learners in the classroom and during practical sessions
- Provide one-to-one or small group support where required
- Assist students with additional learning needs, including SEND
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
- Work closely with teaching staff to support lesson delivery
- Monitor and record learner progress and engagement
- Encourage learner independence and confidence
Requirements
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
- A genuine interest in supporting young people and adult learners
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Basic IT skills
Desirable (but not essential)
- Previous experience in a support, care, or education setting
- Awareness of SEND and inclusive learning practices
