Are you a Housing Benefit Appeals Officer looking for work in the North West London or remotely from home? Morgan Hunt's Public Sector and Government client based in North West London is looking to recruit a Housing Benefit Appeals Officer to assist in meeting a peak demand in work.

Ideal Applicant Requirements

  • Proficiently use the Iworld/Northgate Version 6 ICT System
  • Process first and second stage Appeals submissions in relation to Housing Benefit
  • Collate and prepare documents and evidence for Court and Tribunal hearings
  • Consider all facts relating to applications for the revision of a decision on a Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support claim
  • Deal with reconsiderations
  • Interpret and practice Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support legislation
  • Report and explain highly complex pieces of legislation to all stakeholders including Customers
  • Provide specialist technical knowledge at all levels regarding the administration of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support
  • Assess all types of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit/support claims including new claims and change in circumstances
  • Process student claims, persons from abroad and self-employed cases
  • Assist customers with queries over the phone
