Aeronautical Engineering Lecturer

Location: Shoreham Airport Campus Salary: £35,000 - £48,000 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience) Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Inspire the Next Generation of Aerospace Engineers

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Teach learners across Level 3, HNC, HND and/or Higher Education programmes (where applicable).
  • Deliver both classroom-based and practical learning sessions.
  • Assess learner work and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Monitor learner progress and provide academic and pastoral support.
  • Develop high-quality learning resources and maintain accurate assessment records.
  • Ensure teaching is aligned with awarding body specifications and industry standards.
  • Promote safe working practices within laboratories and workshop environments.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous quality improvement.
  • Build relationships with aerospace employers to enhance learner employability and work-based learning opportunities.

About You

You will have

  • A degree or higher qualification in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Relevant industry experience within the aerospace or aviation engineering sector.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent) or willingness to achieve one.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to motivate and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding teaching and learning.

Desirable

  • Experience teaching in a Further Education or Higher Education environment.
  • Knowledge of aircraft structures, propulsion systems, avionics, aerodynamics and maintenance principles.
  • Experience delivering Pearson BTEC, HNC/HND or university-level engineering programmes.
  • Assessor and/or Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualifications.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and aerospace quality standards.
